Narrativas sobre o tempo no Ilé Asé Odo Oge Babá Epejá

Abstract

O objetivo desta tese consiste na análise de narrativas sobre o tempo entre adeptos do Candomblé de Ketu em uma comunidade de terreiro no município de Florianópolis ? SC. Para tanto nosso percurso metodológico agregou narrativas de membros do Ilé Asé Odo Oge Babá Epejá à elementos da historiografia recente acerca das permanências socioculturais das culturas nagô e yorubá nos Candomblés brasileiros. Os principais resultados demonstram reinvenções no que diz respeito aos usos do tempo dentro e fora dos terreiros. Mostramos como o duplo sentido do tempo, na percepção cosmológica yorubá, reivindica o seu encantamento nas experiências dos sujeitos que se dedicam à religião dos Orixás. Além disso, mostramos como essa reinvenção está em intercâmbio constantes com as práticas sociais, culturais e econômicas da sociedade brasileira.

Abstract: The objective of this thesis is to analyze narratives about time among Candomblé de Ketu adherents in a terreiro community in the city of Florianópolis - SC. For that, our methodological course added narratives from members of the Ilé Asé Odo Oge Babá Epejá to elements of recent historiography about the sociocultural permanence of Nagô and Yoruba cultures in Brazilian Candomblés. The main results demonstrate reinventions regarding the uses of time inside and outside the terreiros. We show how the double meaning of time, in the Yoruba cosmological perception, claims its enchantment in the experiences of subjects who dedicate themselves to the religion of the Orixás. In addition, we show how this reinvention is in constant exchange with the social, cultural and economic practices of Brazilian society.
