Recursos utilizados para combater as fake news no aplicativo WhatsApp

Abstract

Este trabalho teve o objetivo de analisar as ferramentas utilizadas pelo aplicativo WhatsApp para combater as fake news. Como procedimentos metodológicos, inicialmente, procedeu-se à pesquisa exploratória para maior aproximação da temática em estudo, ferramentas utilizadas pelo aplicativo WhatsApp para combater as fake news, seguido de pesquisa e análise qualitativa, para compreender o conceito de fake news. Dentre os resultados, verificou-se que há recursos no próprio aplicativo para combater e diminuir a propagação de fake news e também, existe a ferramenta de chatbot, específica para combater as fake news sobre COVID-19. Como sugestão para trabalhos futuros, tem-se a possibilidade de realizar um estudo sobre as ferramentas de combate às fake news de outras redes sociais, que também poderiam ser utilizadas no WhatsApp.

This work aimed to analyze the tools used by the WhatsApp application to combat fake news. As methodological procedures, initially, exploratory research was carried out to get closer to the subject under study, tools used by the WhatsApp application to combat fake news, followed by research and qualitative analysis, to understand the concept of fake news. Among the results, it was found that there are resources in the application itself to combat and reduce the spread of fake news and there is also a chatbot tool, specifically to combat fake news about COVID-19. As a suggestion for future work, there is the possibility of carrying out a study on tools to combat fake news from other social networks, which could also be used on WhatsApp.
