O esporte no decorrer do tempo é marcado por pessoas e momentos que merecem ficar registrados para a posteridade. Isso não é diferente com a modalidade de basquetebol. Porém, se não há registros, ou se esses registros são escassos, os fatos se perdem com o tempo e não é possível relembrar nosso passado. Pensando nisso, este trabalho intenta registrar alguns fatos que marcaram a história do basquetebol na cidade de Rio do Sul, localizada em Santa Catarina. A cidade possui vários praticantes e entusiastas da modalidade, porém, muitos não conhecem o passado do basquetebol em seu município, principalmente os mais jovens. A proposta principal é organizar os acontecimentos mais relevantes e marcantes da modalidade na cidade, buscando entrevistar pessoas que possam detalhar os eventos passados e que possam contar a história do desenvolvimento da modalidade. A motivação se dá pela falta de trabalhos com proposta similar, buscando preencher esta atual lacuna existente sobre a história esportiva local. Nisso, o objetivo do trabalho é compreender como o basquetebol foi desenvolvido entre a década de 1950 até o final da década de 1990 em Rio do Sul. A metodologia utilizada foi a história oral, a partir da gravação de entrevistas realizadas por meio da plataforma Google Meet. Estas foram analisadas, posteriormente. O motivo por trás deste trabalho é de documentar informações para que estas não se percam com o tempo, o próprio interesse pessoal do pesquisador com a modalidade e a cidade de Rio do Sul, como praticante e morador da cidade, além de auxiliar possíveis pesquisas futuras na área. A pesquisa revelou que Rio do Sul teve times muito competitivos no cenário do basquetebol catarinense, principalmente na categoria feminina, apesar de todas as dificuldades estruturais atreladas ao esporte riosulense ao longo dos anos. Mesmo com dificuldades e complicações, o basquetebol riosulense teve equipes campeãs, desenvolveu suas equipes de base e ainda foi utilizada como ferramenta para desenvolvimento social das comunidades locais. However, if there are no records, or if those records are scarce, the facts are lost over time and it won’t be possible to remember our past. With that in mind, this research intends to record some facts that marked the history of basketball in the city of Rio do Sul, located in Santa Catarina. The city has several practitioners and enthusiasts of the sport, however, many do not know the past of basketball in their hometown, especially the younger ones. The main proposal is to organize the most relevant and outstanding events of the sport in the city, seeking to interview people who can detail past events and who can tell the story of the sport's development. The motivation is given by the lack of researches with a similar proposal, seeking to fill this current gap on the local sports history. The objective of the research is to understand how basketball was developed between the 1950s until the end of the 1990s in Rio do Sul. The methodology used was oral history, from the recording of interviews carried out through the Google Meet platform. These were analyzed later. The reason behind this research is to document information so that it does not get lost over time, the researcher's own personal interest with the sport and the city of Rio do Sul, as a practitioner and resident of the city, in addition to assisting possible future researches on the matter. This research revealed that Rio do Sul had very competitive teams in Santa Catarina’s basketball scene, especially in the female category, despite all the structural difficulties linked to the sports of Rio do Sul over the years. Even with difficulties and complications, basketball in Rio do Sul had champion teams, developed its youth teams and was used as a tool for the social development of local communities. |
