A nação que salva a si mesma: o CCC e sua luta contra a "subversão"

Abstract

O Comando de Caça aos Comunistas (CCC) faz parte do imaginário político brasileiro desde meados do século XX. Surgido na cidade de São Paulo durante o governo Goulart, o grupo ganharia notoriedade nacional no ano de 1968 devido a episódios como o ataque à peça de teatro Roda Viva e a batalha da rua Maria Antônia. A grande repercussão desses episódios garantiu que a sigla se tornasse um símbolo de violência da extrema-direita, evocando medo e repulsa. Mas, cabe lembrar, o CCC também foi capaz de angariar admiração e servir de inspiração, como atestam tanto a miríade de ataques atribuídos a sigla pelo país afora no final dos anos 1960 como o ?retorno saudosístico? da sigla em finais dos anos 1970 por aqueles que queriam combater o processo de abertura política no país. O objetivo do presente estudo é superar a duradoura visão do CCC como um agente externo dedicado a aterrorizar uma sociedade civil homogeneizada, o ?comando do terror? das manchetes da época, e restituir a esse seu papel de ator político inserido nos embates sociais de então, sua relação (e a de seus membros) com outras forças políticas, imprensa e o Estado, bem como sua inserção dentro do arco político conservador existente.

Abstract: The Command for Hunting Communists (CCC) has been part of the Brazilian political imaginary since the mid-twentieth century. Founded in the city of São Paulo during the Goulart government, the group would gain national notoriety in 1968 due to episodes such as the attack on the Roda Viva theater play and the battle of Maria Antônia street. The great repercussion of these episodes ensured that the acronym became a symbol of far-right violence, evoking fear and revulsion. But, it is worth remembering, the CCC was also able to garner admiration and serve as inspiration, as attested both by the myriad of attacks attributed to the acronym across the country in the late 1960s and the \"nostalgic return\" of the acronym in the late 1970s by those who wanted to fight the process of political opening in the country. The objective of this study is to overcome the long-standing vision of the CCC as an external agent dedicated to terrorizing a homogenized civil society, the \"terror command\" of the headlines of the time, and to restore its role as a political actor inserted in the social conflicts of the time, its relationship (and that of its members) with other political forces, the press, and the State, as well as its insertion within the existing conservative political arc.
