The areas of Science and Technology show significant gender inequality, which is
usually naturalized by common sense, both in educational bodies and in the world of work.
This context, where women have great chances of suffering discrimination when choosing
one of these areas to work professionally, is what leads many to give up on training, or else,
not choose these careers. Thinking about these issues, the general objective of this work was
to analyze the participation of women in the ICT segment and formulate a critical view of the
current scenario, highlighting points in which women, as professionals, can be despised when
compared to men. In history, biological sex has always been used to define roles in society for
men and women. Planting and socially cultivating the idea that the biological chance of being
a mother should make all women responsible, obligatorily, for the care of the home, children
and husband. This work presents an analysis of current data and historical data that clearly
show the expressive gender inequality in the aforementioned areas. |
