consumo. São eles: a) a redução de empregos e de renda; b) a determinação do isolamento social;

The event of the COVID-19 pandemic generated a series of transformations and adaptations at
dif erent socioeconomic scales. Both individuals, companies and institutions had to adapt to the
restrictions and conditions imposed by this situation. Among these limitations, three challenges
about people’s access to consumer products and goods will be highlighted in this article. They are:
a) the reduction of jobs and income; b) the determination of social isolation; c) the increase of
teleworking. This context has had an impact on the generation of several improvised solutions to everyday problems that built a vernacular innovations repository. This work, therefore, aims to
analyze the main characteristics of these innovations and the feasibility of disseminating them via
open Design and digital manufacturing. Since it’s a descriptive nature of problem, the mini-Survey
was adopted as a research method, with an emphasis on publications of vernacular solutions
posted on a project sharing platform. As a result, the research shows the main product clusters, the
main categories of vernacular design found, as well as the digital manufacturing technologies that
can be used to enable the distributed production of these solutions. |
