Narrativas do sujeito: metamorfoses no cinema de David Cronenberg

Abstract

Esta dissertação pesquisa e analisa os filmes do diretor canadense DavidCronenberg ao longo da sua carreira. Em sua obra, pode-se identificaraspectos e inquietações recorrentes: percorremos por histórias quecaminham irreversivelmente para finais trágicos, vemos imagens que nosinvadem e nos desconcertam, presenciamos transformações devastadoras.A metamorfose do sujeito dentro dos filmes do cineasta serve como fococentral para a análise das narrativas cinematográficas. A pesquisapretende chamar a atenção para uma ordem diferente de ficção e produçãocinematográfica, seja para a criação de roteiros como para a sua análisecrítica. Pensando assim, a narrativa não deve simplesmente partir de umaconstrução lógica entre seus elementos constituintes, como espaço,enredo, tempo e foco narrativo, mas do entrecruzamento e dadesarticulação desses elementos. Este projeto irá dialogar com filmes,diretores e teóricos que também discutem a transformação do sujeito nacontemporaneidade, propondo assim novos espaços para repensarhistórias e a construção do sujeito dentro da ficção.

Abstract : This dissertation investigates and analyzes the movies of the Canadiandirector, David Cronenberg, throughout his career. In his work, we canidentify certain aspects and recurring worries: we go through histories thatmove irreversibly to tragic endings. We see images that invade and baffle.We witness devastating transformations. The metamorphosis of thesubject inside the movies of the director, serves as focus for the analysisof cinematographic narratives. The research intends to call attention to adifferent order of narrative and movie production, considering differentaspects such as the creation of screenplays as well as the critical analysisof movies. Thinking that way, the narrative mustn't simply follow alogical construction of its elements, as a focus of space, plot, time andnarrative. Instead, we see him intertwining and disarticulating theseelements. This project will serve as a dialogue with movies, directors andauthors that also discuss the transformation of the subject in contemporarytimes, proposing in that way, new ways to think of stories and theconstruction of the subject inside fiction.
