Associações entre relação de ativação pai-criança, funcionamento familiar e comportamento da criança pré-escolar em famílias biparentais

Abstract

O contexto familiar é considerado um dos mais importantes para o desenvolvimento da criança. O modo como os membros interagem entre si irá estabelecer seu funcionamento familiar, que influenciará as demais relações. Dentre as relações estabelecidas nesse contexto, identificam-se especificidades no envolvimento paterno como seu papel de abertura ao mundo, por meio de estimulação e disciplina, o que caracteriza a relação de ativação pai-criança. O objetivo geral desta tese foi compreender as associações entre relação de ativação pai-criança, funcionamento familiar e comportamento da criança pré-escolar em famílias biparentais. Trata-se de uma pesquisa quantitativa e experimental, na qual participaram 171 famílias biparentais heteroafetivas com pelo menos um(a) filho(a) com quatro a seis anos da região Sul do Brasil. Como instrumentos foram utilizados: Questionário Sociodemográfico, Questionário de Abertura ao Mundo, Escala de Avaliação da Coesão e Adaptabilidade Familiar, e Questionário de Capacidades e Dificuldades. Das 171 famílias, 12 participaram também do procedimento observacional da Situação de Risco. Os dados obtidos com os questionários foram tabulados e submetidos a análises estatísticas descritivas e inferenciais. Os dados obtidos com a observação foram analisados por meio de um protocolo de registro da observação da relação de ativação pai-criança. Por meio da análise estatística dos resultados do estudo quantitativo constatou-se que a função de abertura ao mundo apresentou correlações significativas apenas com as dificuldades da criança; averiguaram-se correlações significativas do funcionamento familiar com os comportamentos da criança (exceto para hiperatividade); e identificaram-se correlações significativas entre o funcionamento familiar e a função de abertura ao mundo. Também se constatou: o efeito mediador da Coesão equilibrada quando se considerou o efeito da Punição sobre os Problemas de conduta; e o efeito moderador da interação entre Coesão equilibrada alta ou Flexibilidade equilibrada alta e o Estímulo à perseverança para os Sintomas emocionais. Os resultados do estudo experimental evidenciaram que: oito crianças foram classificadas como ativadas, três como subativadas e uma como superativada; o funcionamento das famílias era rigidamente coeso e/ou equilibrado; e com relação aos comportamentos das crianças, as mesmas apresentaram elevado comportamento pró-social e baixos escores em dificuldades. A partir do conjunto dos resultados, verificou-se a interdependência entre os fenômenos. Assim, deve-se considerar o funcionamento familiar e a abertura ao mundo em interação para melhor compreensão dos comportamentos da criança.

Abstract : The family context is considered one of the most important for the child s development. The way members interact with each other will establish their family functioning, which will influence the other relationships. Among the relations established in this context, we identify specificities in the father involvement as his role of openness to the world, through stimulation and discipline, which characterizes the father-child activation relationship. The general aim of this thesis was to understand the associations between father-child activation relationship, family functioning and preschool child's behavior in biparental families. This is a quantitative and experimental study, involving 171 hetero-affective biparental families with at least one son/daughter aged four to six years in the Southern region of Brazil. As instruments it was used: Sociodemographic Questionnaire, Openness to the World Questionnaire, Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scales, Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire. Of the 171 families, 12 also participated in the Risk Situation observational procedure. The data obtained from the questionnaires were tabulated and submitted to descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The data obtained with the observation were analyzed by the registration protocol of observation of father-child activation relationship. Through the statistical analysis of the results of the quantitative study it was found that the function of openness to the world showed significant correlations only with the difficulties of the child; significant correlations of family functioning with the child's behaviors (except for hyperactivity) were verified; and significant correlations between family functioning and the function of openness to the world were identified. It was also verified: the mediating effect of balanced Cohesion when considering the effect of Punishment on Conduct Problems; and the moderating effect of the interaction between high Balanced Cohesion or High Balanced Flexibility and the Stimulus to Perseverance for Emotional Symptoms. The results of the experimental study show that: eight children were classified as activated, three as subactivated and one as overactivated; the family functioning was rigidly cohesive and/or balanced; and with regard to children's behaviors, they had high pro-social behavior and low scores in difficulties. From the set of results, it was verified the interdependence between the phenomena. Thus, we should consider the family functioning and openness to the world interaction for a better understanding of child's behaviors.
