O livro de imagem: inserção da criança no mundo da leitura

Abstract

A leitura tem grande importância na vida do ser humano. O contato com o livro desde os primeiros anos de vida é fundamental para se criar o gosto pela leitura. O trabalho descreve o livro de imagem como uma ferramenta para a iniciação da criança pré-leitora no mundo da leitura. Tem como objetivo geral destacar os benefícios da leitura do livro de imagem para as crianças pré-leitoras. Para atingir tal objetivo, foi realizada uma pesquisa exploratória; do ponto de vista dos procedimentos técnicos configura-se pesquisa como bibliográfica. O referencial teórico incidiu sobre definições da leitura, os benefícios da leitura no universo infantil, leitura de imagens, o livro de imagem, o livro de imagem no Brasil e autores de livro de imagens com destaque no cenário nacional. Ao final da pesquisa, concluiu-se que o livro de imagem desempenha papel importante para o acesso da criança no universo da leitura. Familiariza a criança com o livro, estimula o imaginário da criança, auxilia o desenvolvimento cognitivo.

Reading is very important in human life. Contact with the book since the first years of life is crucial to create a taste for reading. The paper describes the picture book as a tool for initiation of the child pre-reader in the world of reading. Its overall objective of highlighting the benefits of reading the picture book for pre-readers children. To achieve this goal, exploratory research was conducted; the point of view of technical procedures is configured as a bibliographic search. The theoretical framework focused on definitions of reading, the benefits of reading in children's universe, reading images, picture book, picture book authors in Brazil and picture book with emphasis on the national scene. At the end of the study, it was concluded that the picture book has an important role to access the child in the universe of reading. Familiarizes the child with the book stimulates the imagination of the child, helps cognitive development.
