<description>MEASUREMENT OF SOUND LEVELS IN MP3 PLAYERS DEVICES AND ASSESSMENT OF LOSS RISKS HEARING IN ITS USERS: MEDIÇÃO DOS NIVEIS DE SOM EM APARELHOS REPRODUTORES DE MP3 E AVALIAÇÃO DOS RISCOS DE PERDA AUDITIVA; MEDIÇÃO DOS NIVEIS DE SOM EM APARELHOS REPRODUTORES DE MP3 E AVALIAÇÃO DOS RISCOS DE PERDA AUDITIVA: MEASUREMENT OF SOUND LEVELS IN MP3 PLAYERS DEVICES AND ASSESSMENT OF LOSS RISKS HEARING IN ITS USERS
Recently, a general concern has emerged with the occurrence of hearing loss caused by the handsets, which are used as pleasure, portable MP3 accessories has become almost indispensable in day-to-day. Currently, it is virtually impossible to get on buses, subway, in a classroom or work environment without encountering someone plugged in a headset. However, this habit is becoming widespread – especially among young people and teenagers – can cause hearing problems. Everything depends on the volume and time that you use the headset. Thus, the objective was to assess the level of intensity of sound that are submitted to users of these devices to see if there is a risk of hearing loss. We measured the sound level in an artificial head 25 using handheld devices. The results were compared with the exposure limits set by Decree 3.214/78 of the Ministry of Labour. The sound levels charged an average of &amp;lt;68 dB (A), with peaks that reached 120.7dB (A). The data indicated that most devices have a high risk of hearing loss, regardless of the music, the type of equipment in a volume greater than 50%.; O objetivo desta pesquisa foi avaliar o nível de intensidade de som a que estão submetidos os usuários de aparelhos reprodutores de MP3 (incluindo celulares) e verificar os riscos de perda auditiva.

<title>DESIGN AND SOCIAL INOVATION: DESIGN E INOVAÇÃO SOCIAL</title>
<link>https://repositorio.ufsc.br/handle/123456789/248079</link>
<description>DESIGN AND SOCIAL INOVATION: DESIGN E INOVAÇÃO SOCIAL; DESIGN E INOVAÇÃO SOCIAL: DESIGN AND SOCIAL INOVATION
This paper presents Design as a technology and from this premise intends to relate it to the innovation process. Therefore, we introduce some concepts and definitions of innovation, as well as its taxonomy. First, we focus on technological innovation, since its straight relation to Design, Science and Technology. Through the text, other forms of innovation are presented, as Service Innovation, a sector that is increasingly valued by companies concerned to consume fewer products and think in a sustainable way. Thus, the service design helps create new services or improve existing ones in order to make them more useful and efficient for organizations. It's new area of Design, more holistic, multidisciplinary and integrative, which aims to provide innovative approaches for companies and government, so that they can meet the contemporary socio-economic challeng (MORITZ, 2005). Furthermore, Social Innovation can also provide a new way to sustainability, especially when it comes with Design tools. Social Innovation is a movement of activities and new services that intend to meet social needs. They are generally developed and spread by organizations with social purposes.

<title>ENERGY GENERATION FROM MUNICIPAL WASTE: COLLECTION AND TREATMENT, EXAMPLES FROM NORTHERN ITALY</title>
<link>https://repositorio.ufsc.br/handle/123456789/248076</link>
<description>ENERGY GENERATION FROM MUNICIPAL WASTE: COLLECTION AND TREATMENT, EXAMPLES FROM NORTHERN ITALY; GERAÇÃO DE ENERGIA A PARTIR DE RESÍDUOS URBANOS: COLETA E TRATAMENTO, EXEMPLOS DO NORTE DA ITÁLIA
The problem of disposal and storage of municipal waste is, nowadays, widely discussed by private and government entities. One of the existing solutions is the ability to combine selective collection with waste incinerators to produce energy. This article presents data from a study of companies that manage selective and efficient collection of municipal waste (CSR - Consorzio Servizi Rifiuti and ASMT - Azienda Servizi Municipalizzati Tortonesi of Tortona, Alessandria province) and a waste incinerator (thermo user or TU) of advanced design in the city of Brescia in Italy. The TU uses non-recyclable municipal waste to produce, through combustion, thermal energy that can be used directly as a means of heating (teleriscaldamento) or converted into electricity.; O problema da eliminação e armazenamento de resíduos urbanos é amplamente discutido por entidades privadas e governamentais hoje em dia.
