Variabilidade climática e doenças circulatórias e respiratórias em Florianópolis (SC): uma contribuição à climatologia médica

Abstract

Em constante contato com a atmosfera, é sabido que o homem é influenciado pela sua dinâmica, assim como, podemos de certo modo alterar as características locais do ambiente que nos cerca. Objetivando avaliar a relação existente entre o clima e a saúde humana, esta pesquisa tem como foco as relações entre os elementos climáticos e as doenças do aparelho circulatório (DAC) e respiratório (DAR) no município de Florianópolis - SC. A partir da compreensão da distribuição dos elementos climáticos dos últimos 40 anos, analisaram-se as correlações existentes entre estes e as doenças na última década (2001 a 2010). Por meio da utilização de gráficos e análises estatísticas, esta pesquisa identificou uma fraca correlação entre o clima e doenças do aparelho circulatório. Os elementos climáticos explicaram apenas, 16% do comportamento das internações pelas DAC. As doenças respiratórias apresentaram no período de inverno os maiores registros de internações, correlacionado moderadamente com as temperaturas e com a pressão atmosférica (ambas com correlações inversamente proporcionais). Neste caso, 43% do comportamento das internações podem ser explicados pelos elementos climáticos.

As man is in constant contact with Earth atmosphere, it is known that he is both influenced by its dynamic as he can modify local characteristics of his surrounding environment in order to change it. With the purpose of recognizing the relationship between climate and human health, this research focused on investigating the relationship between climatic elements and circulatory and respiratory diseases in the city of Florianópolis - SC. Through the study of the distribution of climatic elements from the past 40 years, correlations between these elements and diseases records from the past decade (2001 to 2010) were discovered. By the utilization of graphics and statistic analysis, this research identified a weak correlation between climate and circulatory diseases. Climatic elements were related as influencing the human behavior for internments by circulatory diseases on only 16% of the cases. Respiratory diseases, however, were related as causing the highest number of internments on winter, correlating slightly with temperature and atmospheric pressure on this period (both with inversely proportional correlations). In this case, 43% of human behavior for internments can be explained by the climatic elements.
