Memórias em ruínas: narrativas e exploração urbana (urbex) em Berlim

Abstract

Este trabalho etnográfico se debruça no tema das ruínas urbanas da cidade de Berlim. Dada a relação da cidade com suas ruínas, e seus usos contemporâneos, caminhar por esses lugares se apresenta como uma outra forma de experienciar a história da cidade. A partir da prática de exploração urbana (urbex), as ruínas são colocadas como objeto etnográfico, pesquisando a relação desses edifícios em decrepitude com uma cidade que é sobrecarregada de memória. Com um foco na imagem benjaminiana de flâneur, a etnografia está focada na relação corporal com a materialidade das ruínas, investigando as possibilidades de produção de outras narrativas sobre Berlim ? e seu passado conturbado. Assim, o trabalho está atento para os aspectos temporais da produção dessas ruínas, buscando localizar na justaposição temporal desses lugares outras formas de confrontar o passado e, simultaneamente, conceber outros modos de se viver em ruínas.

Abstract: This ethnographic work focuses on the urban ruins of the city of Berlin. Given the city's relationship with its ruins and their contemporary uses, walking through these places presents itself as a different way of experiencing the city's history. Based on the practice of urban exploration (urbex), the ruins are placed as an ethnographic object, investigating the relationship between these decaying buildings and a city that is overloaded with memory. With a focus on the benjaminian image of the flâneur, the ethnography is focused on the bodily relationship with the materiality of ruins and investigating the possibilities of producing other narratives about Berlin - and its troubled past. Thus, the work is attentive to the temporal aspects of the production of these ruins, seeking to locate in the temporal juxtaposition of these places other ways of confronting the past and, at the same time, conceiving other ways of living in ruins.
