dc.description.abstract This study proposes a comparative analysis between biological processes present in plant growth and human craniofacial development, exploring shared principles of morphogenic regulation, plasticity, and structural adaptation. The central justification for this approach lies in the fact that, although plants and humans belong to distinct kingdoms, both operate under universal mechanisms of biological organization, and understanding these parallels allows for a reinterpretation of craniofacial development from an interdisciplinary perspective, facilitating the visualization of complex concepts and offering new conceptual tools for the field of dentistry. To achieve this objective, the work adopted a narrative literature review, allowing the integration of results from different fields of biological sciences and organizing a coherent theoretical synthesis. The bibliographic search included databases such as PubMed, SciELO, and Google Scholar, encompassing studies on plant physiology, growth hormones, craniofacial morphogenesis, molecular signaling and functional factors that influence facial architecture. This review made it possible to compare diverse biological models without the rigidity of systematic protocols, which is essential when the aim is to establish conceptual relationships and not just measure quantitative evidence. In the end, the study shows that plant morphogenesis — especially the mechanisms explored in the art of bonsai — offers an effective didactic model for understanding how environmental, mechanical, and regulatory stimuli shape biological growth in humans and plants. As a contribution, the work broadens the theoretical understanding of craniofacial development and proposes an innovative perspective for teaching and biological reasoning in dentistry. pt_BR
