dc.description.abstract This article presents the benefits of the lean construction system from studies on works with sustainability in Santana do Araguaia, PA. The research allowed an analysis focused on the positive impacts considering the companies that operate in the construction market in the southern region of Pará. The study on the applicability of the lean building system also has a brief approach to sustainability in civil engineering and architecture. The development of this study took place through bibliographical research, interviews, application of a questionnaire and collection/analysis of data from companies. The work makes a structured reading of the reality of the southern region of Pará in the face of the lean construction system, which consists of optimizing the productivity of works, from planning to execution. pt_BR
