The Brazilian cultural heritage built is constantly at risk and finds in preventive conservation a means
for its protection. This article discusses what contributions preventive conservation offers to a
sustainable public policy of built cultural heritage? To respond, it is necessary to understand how
preventive conservation is linked to the implementation of a sustainable public policy for the built
historical heritage. In order to improve artifacts that solve problems, two governmental proposals for
preventive, Brazilian and Spanish conservation were contrasted. It has been shown that the practice of
preventive conservation is strongly linked to a sustainable public policy. The Spanish model is aligned
with the principles of sustainability, contrasting significantly with the Brazilian model. The study
contributed to the scientific research of applied models, having as contribution, practical and social,
the indication that the Brazilian model lacks improvement, so that it is used as an effective and
sustainable artifact. |
