O design e a obsolescência programada

Abstract

O presente artigo faz uma reflexão sobre os Impactos Ambientais causados pela Obsolescência Programada, abordando temáticas sobre o surgimento deste termo, o início da sociedade consumista, os impactos ambientais causados pelo consumo e o papel que o designer pode desempenhar para minimizar os impactos ambientais. Os teóricos utilizados para desenvolver esse artigo foram, Victor Papanek, Victor Margolin, Philippe Pomier Layrargues, Serge Latouche, Brooks Stevens, Zygmunt Bauman, Gilles Lipovetsky, Gui Bonsiepe e o documentário “A Conspiração da Lâmpada”, dirigido pela cineasta alemã Cosima Dannoritzer. Através desses pensadores foi estruturado este artigo para provocar uma discussão sobre o consumo, economia, meio ambiente e design, concluindo a necessidade de o design repensar sua prática.

This article reflects on the Environmental Impacts caused by Programmed Obsolescence, addressing themes about the emergence of this term, the beginning of the consumerist society, the environmental impacts caused by consumption and the role that the designer can play to minimize environmental impacts. The theorists used to develop this article were, Victor Papanek, Victor Margolin, Philippe Pomier Layrargues, Serge Latouche, Brooks Stevens, Zygmunt Bauman, Gilles Lipovetsky, Gui Bonsiepe and the documentary “The Lamp Conspiracy”, directed by the German filmmaker Cosima Dannoritzer. Through these thinkers, this article was structured to provoke a discussion about consumption, economy, environment and design, concluding the need for design to rethink its practice
