Cardiomiopatia restritiva felina: relato de caso

Abstract

Mais de 95% das doenças cardíacas relatadas em gatos domésticos são causadas por cardiomiopatias, doença responsável por uma grande porcentagem na morbidade e mortalidade dessa espécie, sendo a cardiomiopatia restritiva a segunda mais prevalente dentro das cardiomiopatias. Caracterizado pelo aumento do átrio esquerdo ou biatrial, sem hipertrofia miocárdica concomitante, podendo apresentar fibrose intersticial do endomiocárdio, subendocárdica ou miocárdica. O presente trabalho relata o caso de um felino, macho, sem raça definida, castrado, com aproximadamente 16 anos de idade, pesando 3,470 kg, prostado, com dispneia, polidipsia, hiporexia atendido no Hospital Veterinário All Vet’s. A suspeita diagnóstica foi de cardiomiopatia restritiva sugerido pelo laudo do ecocardiograma. O tratamento realizado consistiu em furosemida 2 mg/kg, atenolol 3,6 mg/kg e pimobendan 0,36 mg/kg, todos pela via oral. Até o final do estágio não foi acompanhado mais o retorno do paciente.

More than 95% of the cardiac diseases reported in domestic cats are caused by cardiomyopathies, a disease responsible for a large percentage of the morbidity and mortality of this species, with restrictive cardiomyopathy being the second most prevalent within cardiomyopathies. Characterized by the enlargement of the left or biatrial atrium, without concomitant myocardial hypertrophy, and may present with endomyocardial, subendocardial or myocardial interstitial fibrosis. The present work reports the case of a feline, male, mixed breed, neutered, with approximately 16 years of age, weighing 3,470 kg, prostate, with dyspnea, polydipsia, hyporexia treated at Veterinary Hospital All Vet’s. The diagnostic suspicion was restrictive cardiomyopathy suggested by the echocardiogram report. The treatment performed consisted of furosemide 2 mg/kg, atenolol 3,6 mg/kg and pimobendan 0,36 mg/kg, all orally. Until the end of the internship, the patient's return was no longer followed.
