Análise sonográfica das manifestações acústicas de Setophaga pitiayumi (Passeriformes: Parulidae) da Região da Grande Florianópolis - SC

Abstract

As manifestações sonoras possuem um papel comportamental importante na comunicação de muitos animais e a bioacústica surge como o estudo destas manifestações, e também como uma uma ferramenta de determinação taxonômica. Por isso estudos das espécies de aves com a descrição de suas vocalizações e repertórios vocais são quase obrigatórios hoje em dia. Este estudo caracteriza e descreve as manifestações acústicas de Setophaga pitiayumi (Passeriformes: Parulidae) com registros sonoros da Região da Grande Florianópolis (SC), a fim de identificar caracteres diagnósticos e verificar variações intraespecíficas das manifestações sonoras da espécie. Foram classificadas 5 formas de frases de acordo com sua estrutura sonográfica, com variações no número de sílabas, desde apenas uma a até três sílabas distintas, variações na forma das sílabas e nas sílabas finais das frases. Na estrutura das frases detalharam-se 8 tipos de sílabas: 3 tipos de sílaba trinadas iniciais, 2 sílabas trinadas terminais e 3 vibratos; e também 5 tipos de notas finais. Há uma grande variação de formas intra-específica no repertório vocal de Setophaga pitiayumi, sendo a porção final do canto mais instável que as iniciais e o caractere padrão mais constante da estrutura sonográfica é o trinado na sílaba inicial das frases.

Sound manifestations have an important behavioral role in the communication of many animals and bioacoustics is the study of these manifestations, but also a instrument for some taxonomic determinations. That is why studies of bird species with the description of vocalizations and sound repertoires are almost mandatory nowadays. The present study characterizes and describes the acoustic manifestations of Setophaga pitiayumi (Passeriformes: Parulidae) with sound records from the macroregion of Florianópolis (SC), in order to identify diagnostic characters and verify possible intraspecific variations of the sound manifestations in the species. Five sentence forms were classified according to their sonographic structure, with variations in the number of syllables, from one to three different syllables, variations in the form of these syllables, and at the end of the phrases. In the phrase structure, 8 types of syllables were detailed: 3 types of initial trill syllable, 2 terminal trill syllable and 3 vibratos; also 5 types of final notes were identified and described. There is great variation of intraspecific forms in the vocal repertoire of Setophaga pitiayumi, the final section of the song is more unstable and variable than the initial ones and the most constant standard character of the sonographic structure is the trill in the initial syllable of the phrase.
