Muitos caminhos para a ação: culturas de classe entre os trabalhadores metalúrgicos de Blumenau (1968-1978)

Abstract

Esta dissertação tem como principal proposta estudar as ?culturas de classe? dos trabalhadores metalúrgicos de Blumenau entre 1968 e 1978, período mais arbitrário da ditadura civil-militar. Tem-se como objetivo investigar a disputa pela manutenção e ampliação dos direitos e da qualidade de vida dos metalúrgicos, através de vários caminhos encontrados e criados para que pudessem agir durante o governo autoritário. Esta categoria de trabalhadores em Blumenau se constituiu a partir vários fluxos migratórios de pessoas que se instalaram principalmente na região geoeconômica do Norte da cidade, onde também está a maior concentração das indústrias nas quais eram empregados. A política estava presente no cotidiano e a economia nacional interferia diretamente nas vidas destes operários, que reagiam e participavam dos debates tanto quanto lhes fossem acessíveis. Estes trabalhadores buscavam resolver seus problemas em nível local, mas também estavam atentos às pautas mais globais, que foram discutidas durante o VI Congresso Nacional da categoria, que ocorreu em Blumenau, em 1968. As preocupações se transformavam em ações, elaboradas e expressas nas diversas instituições. Sua atuação, tanto nas fábricas, quanto no sindicato, nas associações e demais redes de solidariedade e sociabilidade, demonstra que manifestavam certa crença no diálogo entre as classes, pois muitas das suas reivindicações buscavam a criação ou recuperação de leis que mediassem os conflitos sociais e melhorassem as condições de vida nas comunidades.

Abstract : This dissertation has as a main proposal, to study the ?class cultures? of the metallurgical workers of Blumenau between 1968 and 1978, the most arbitrary period of the civil-military dictatorship. The objective is to investigate the dispute for the maintenance and ampliation of the rights and the life quality of the metallurgics, through the many ways found and created, so they could act during the authoritarian government. This category of workers in Blumenau is constituted from many migration flows of people that settled mainly in the geoeconomic region of the north of the city, where it is also the largest concentration of the industries which they were employed. The politics was present in their daily life and the national economy interfered directly in their lives They reacted and participated in the discussions as much as it was possible. These workers were trying to solve their problems in a local level, but they also were aware to the global guidelines, that were discussed during the VI National Congress of the category, which ocurred in Blumenau, in 1968. The concerns have turned into actions, elaborated and expressed in several institutions. Their performance, both in the factories and in the sindicate, in the associations and other solidarity and sociability networks demonstrates that they expressed a certain belief in the dialogue between classes, because many of their claims looked for the creation or recovery of laws that would mediate the social conflicts and improve the life conditions in the communities.
