| Abstract: |
The process of globalization resulted from the technological advance had an impact on the sociocultural context by diluting some cultural practices of certain regions. According to Parada (2016) the Creative Economy was created with the purpose of safeguarding the survival of these cultural traditions, as well as stimulating social inclusion through the reduction of unemployment and contribution to the socio-economic sustainable development. The present work will study the relationship between tourism and handicrafts, which according to Dias (et al., 2009) has been emphasized by the increasing demand for cultural assets, which has encouraged the increasing investment in assets and services with symbolic-cultural value. Cultural tourism is an example of this, according to Santos (2003), this modern industry inserted in its socioeconomic context has responded to the challenge of preserving cultural heritage. And this exchange of mutual benefits between communities holding cultural assets and the economy makes handicrafts have a valuable role in tourism. Handicrafts enrich tourism travel through the commercialization of their symbolism and, simultaneously, Tourism contributes positively on the sales of these assets, which bring financial return to the artisans, contributing to their subsistence (SEBRAE, 2010). In Brazil, there is still slight record documented about the Creative Economy, and therefore, this work contributes to the study of the theme, through a research that aims to perceive the relationship between cultural tourism and the commercialization of the craft as artistic creation, directed to the traditional crafts of Florianópolis. |
