Gênero em redes sociais: um incentivo à construção de computação inclusiva

Abstract

Pensando em incluir diversidades no uso da interface de sistemas, é necessário repensar as metodologias clássicas empregadas no desenvolvimento destes sistemas, para melhor atender as necessidades dos usuários. A interação humano-computador (IHC) é uma disciplina que aborda a interação humana com sistemas computacionais em um contexto social. Neste contexto, pode-se integrar teorias feministas, incluem a HCI clássica um tratamento mais pessoal e visando a inclusão social, principalmente no que tange as questões de gênero. Este trabalho tem como finalidade apresentar os conceitos e benefícios desta integração para a vida em sociedade, sem aplicar padrões incoerentes, de uma rede social, amplamente difundida como o caso do Facebook de acordo com os princípios e métodos adotados na IHC feminista. Desta forma, foi possível, identificar e sugerir melhorias na interface da rede social, e validar as teorias apresentadas.

Thinking of including diversity in the use of the systems interface, it is necessary to rethink how classic methodologies used in the development of systems, to better meet the needs of users. Human-computer interaction (HCI) is a discipline that addresses human interaction with computational systems in a social context. In this context, one can integrate feminist theories, include the classic HCI a more personal treatment and aiming at social inclusion, mainly in what concerns the gender issues. This paper aims to present the concepts and benefits of this integration for life in society, without applying incoherent patterns, of a social network, widely diffused as the case of Facebook according to the principles and methods adopted in the feminist HCI. In this way, it was possible to identify and suggest improvements in the social network interface, and to validate the presented theories.
