Abstract

This article aims to show the results achieved in a furniture design discipline, with a concept of BIOMÓVEL (a process created by companies from the furniture sector of the South of Santa Catarina). This concept permeates a strong connection and appreciation of the local context, environmental issues related to production and use, which in the global mass production process has led companies to seek differentiated products that value their origins. The methodological phases of Research Methods, Methods of Analysis and Synthesis Methods were searched and identified the object "Chairs" and their historical evolution. It is through the chairs and furniture of a residence that we interpret the tastes, the behaviors and also the evolution of the social classes. This theme was explored by reading the aspects of the Pernambucan Culture and reinterpreting within its icons, models and identities within a specific universe of objects to sit, but also a close look at objects that convey an aesthetic appreciation of the product.
